Hallowe'en

Happy Hallowe'en! I'm shocked by what a big deal this day is down here. Then again, I forget that every holiday is milked for every penny that it's worth one way or another. Parents spent a good deal of yesterday evening preparing the costumes for their kids. I remember most kids my age had some kind of plastic mask, with razor sharp breath holes and elastic that pulled loose from the staples, and a $5 costume from Woodwards (that did nothing to keep you warm while trick or treating). I guess I'm just living around wealthier people in a warmer climate, who are willing to mortgage their house so their kid looks good (or gross) today. I'll probably do the same thing in a few years...
